With their busy performance schedules with other groups in the DFW area, the three friends, who always wanted to perform as a unit, decided in October of 2002 to form their own group - THE SAM WALKER TRIO.

Since then the trio has performed at various DFW clubs such as Terilli's, SOHO’s, Snookie's, Kirby's, and Sambuca's just to name a few. In addition to club dates, the SWT has performed at the Ft. Worth Jazz Festival, the Nasher Sculpture Center, Art's Fifth Ave, LightCatcher Winery, Ft. Worth's Main Street Arts Festival and the Dallas Museum of Art. In addition, the SWT has performed for numerous private functions including weddings, corporate parties, birthdays, and retail store events.

The members of the Sam Walker Trio - Sam Walker (Guitar), Kyp Green (Bass), and Roy Snodgrass (Drums) have performed with James Clay, Marchel Ivery, The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Pete Petersen and The Collection, Clark Terry, Sandra Kaye, Eddie Daniels, The Four Freshman, Carl Fontana, Onzy Matthews – former arranger for Lou Rawls, Red Holloway, Jack Sheldon, Pete Christlieb, along with many other local players.
